From The Register-Guard:
Sfizio — Italian for a “hard to satisfy craving” — is the first restaurant headed up by Rocky Maselli, though the executive chef co-owns Marché in Eugene with his wife, Leah, and her mother, Stephanie Pearl Kimmel.
Maselli says his menu at Sfizio will feature pastas, in-house and imported hand-cured meats, fresh local produce and an array of appetizers.
Osteria Sfizio is a new ninety-five seat modern Italian restaurant in the middle of the Willamette Valley. A locally sourced menu features antipasti, house-made pasta, seasonal ingredients, and the best seafood and meats Oregon has to offer. In warmer weather, seating will spill out onto the courtyard of the Oakway Center and expand to serve more than 130 guests.
Food and drink is the central focus. The interior is designed around the open kitchen and bar, where patrons can be in the middle of the action at the 18-seat kitchen-bar counter. Private booths and a long family table offer a range of experiences, from a family night out to a convivial business dinner or lunch with friends.
The bar features Italian and Oregon wines, locally brewed beer, micro-distilled spirits, and Italian inspired cocktails. The interior features the sleek feel of modern Italian design combined with the warmth and green sensibility of the Pacific Northwest.
