New Deal Distillery provides high quality, craft-distilled spirits, inspired by the DIY spirit of Portland. All of their artisan vodkas are made locally in small batches with Bull Run water and natural and organic ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible. Their goal was to simply put one good bottle of vodka on a store shelf, have one person buy it, and maybe change humanity for the better along the way.
2004 saw their first goal realized when New Deal Vodka hit the shelves. It was crafted as a “sipping vodka,” with an exceptional spirit can double as an elegant foundation to any cocktail. It is clean and light to the palate making it especially good for recipes featuring delicate flavors such as white tea, cucumber, or raspberry.
Think global, act local means different things to different people, but at New Deal Distillery it means that we support local organic farmers, promote the Slow Food Movement, champion Farm-to-Table partnerships, source parts and equipment from local distributors, strive to be environmentally sustaninable and socially responsible, and believe that “coopertition” should define business relationships.
We think that the rapid growth and measured successes of the craft-distilling industry in Portland is proof that craft-distilleries will continue to offer locally-made, high-quality alternatives to the products of corporate conglomerates that dominate the alcohol beverage industry . . . changing humanity for the better along the way.
