Making your way in the world today takes everything you’ve got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn’t you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name…”
Sam and Diane had Cheers. SE Portland has The Lion’s Eye Tavern.
Lion’s Eye owner, Erin Wagner, spotted a local bar that had been closed for a while with a location and vibe that sparked her imagination. Having spent most of her working life as a waitress and manager at local bars and restaurants, Erin saw an opportunity to fulfill a dream where most would not. She leased the venue and immediately began renovations.
That was over a year ago. Today, Lion’s Eye is a special place with a unique Portland spirit. Erin hand selects local brews to offer on tap with a purpose to keep it local. Works from NW artists decorate the walls. Even Erin’s own paint and brush created a beautiful portrait of our downtown skyline providing a backdrop to the bottled beers she offers on display.
Step outside where events are held on the back patio. You can always light up a smoke or safely store your wheels on the bicycle rack. Outdoor events include live concerts, BBQ cook-offs and the big Summer Luau.
What will you find inside Lion’s Eye? A daily Happy Hour from 3pm-7pm, late Saturday night hip-hop and house DJ’s, video game competitions on Wii Wednesdays, Sunday night BBQ and pool tournament and much more.
So join Cliff, Norm and Woody (okay, maybe not the Cliff, Norm and Woody) and visit Lion’s Eye Tavern soon!
“…and they’re always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same.
You wanna be where everybody knows your name.”
